Fulcrum Surf Elite Surf Training

Fulcrum has been running it’s Elite Surf Program over the last few weeks. So far we have Ricky Gardner, Chloe Buckley, Nelson Kingbury and Danny Brek working hard on their surfing and doing a training session every week at Fulcrum Studio with Dan.

It takes a lot of dedication to want to become a world class surfer or athlete. We will be giving further updates as our crew progresses. We must say we were impressed by a sighting of Chloe running on a sunday afternoon. That is what we are talking about! Self motivation and self accountability takes you far in this life!

Fulcrum Alum Chloe Buckley gets surfline attention

Chloe Buckley is a great emerging surf talent in Southern California. As a former Canyon Crest Academy student, we have had great delight in guiding Chloe with her surfing talent over the years. Seems all the hard work and natural ability Chloe exudes has landed Chloe with her first published photo on Surfline. We are sure there are more of these to come for Chloe! Congratulations from the Fulcrum crew, we are very excited and proud of you. OH and by the way…good use of your rail in that shot! That’s some SERIOUS power surfing!

The latest Interscholastic Surfing Federation ( ISF)  event was held at La Jolla Shores on January 24th.

Fulcrum Surf coaches Canyon Crest Academy (CCA) High School who were competing against Rancho Buena Vista . The results from last weekend leaves Canyon Crest Academy (CCA) still undefeated since last years season!

The conditions started off pretty good in the morning with waist to shoulder high waves on the sets. The afternoon got choppy as the wind came up, even so, there were some fun rides on offer.

Canyon Crest had 6 finalist between the shortboarding and longboarding events. All of the finalists are enrolled in Fulcrum Surf Programs. The various programs we run include the Longboard Competitive Program with Shea Roney as coach. There is also the High School Competitive as well as an Elite Group Program. We are becoming an even bigger breeding grown for shredders!

It would seem all the hard work and fun Fulcrum groms have been having in their programs keeps paying off- big time! So keep it happening everyone.

In the boys Shortboard Division Jonathon Stewart won the event and was on fire  and dominated from the beginning, not losing to a single competitor the whole event! The highlight heat of the division was the quarter finals, the boys surfed it like a final! The surfing between Jonathon Stewart and Matt King who both took 1st and 2nd respectively  to progress further in the event was outstanding, pushing each other to higher  performance levels.

In the Boys Longboard Division Jason Schecter was our highest placed, coming in second over all. Jason’s surfing is definitely improving and his high consistency is incredible. We truly believe he is more than capable of taking out a whole event. We can’t wait for him to take one out!  Riley Stephenson has just enrolled in our Long Board Competitive program and after 3 weeks he has made his first ISF Final. This is a significant improvement as prior to this Riley has made it through to the second round only. Congrats Riley on such a huge leap forward.

Thank you to everyone that competed and their families support squad. It was a great event and a lot of great surfing and results to be proud of!
