Fulcrum Surf X Lily Drone

The Daily Froth: “Fulcrum Orders A Lily”

Have you ever been on a surf trip but came back home without proof of your exploits? Or have you ever had to sit on the beach with camera in hand, catching an involuntary tan while your best mates are out getting the waves you flew all that way for? Fulcrum has found the answer, and in technology is our savior!
I asked Pat, Fulcrum’s filmmaker, about what it’s like missing a great session due to filming duties, “ It’s a blessing and a curse being the guy who shoots video. All my friends invite me on surf trips hoping that I will slave away on the beach making sure all their waves are documented but I am a surfer first and foremostand that’s where the trouble lies.”

But with a Lily Drone at our disposal, we will be able to document every life changing ride with its “self shooting capabilities.” As a surf school, it is critical in our clients success to get feedback that will further their surfing abilities. With the “Lily drone”, we can have visual representation so that our students can correct technical flaws and improve on a quicker rate.

“It was obvious to me that this drone was a superb investment for Fulcrum, With the high definition footage that we will be able to get from Lily, we can implement video review session’s that will greatly improve the quality of our lessons”.

While Lily is set to bloom sometime this fall, we at Fulcrum still offer video packages with our lessons and provide free GoPro footage if you have one already. Just this week, a camper at D Street , Encinitas was able to give his Go Pro 3 Silver edition to myself so that I could attempt the triumphs of Clark Little in hollow beach break tubes. The visual stills are mind-blowing as they display the raw power of the ocean and its intrinsic beauty.

As a surfer who has benefitted greatly from self video analysis, I know that the Lily drone will help our students improve at a much more rapid pace. If the video posted above doesn’t get your heart rate thumping and thumb hovering over a “Fulcrum Travel Package” then check out these stunning images caught by a drone at Banzai Pipeline on the North Shore of Oahu.

My favorite part about this video? Is imagining if it was shot with a Lily Drone.
